About Me

I'm a country kid, born and raised. For the first 14 years of my life I grew up in northern Minnesota on two different farms. We had dairy cattle until I was 8, coming from a long, long, line of dairy farmers. After that my family started raising beef cattle and we haven't looked back since. Along the way, we've also raised sheep, goats, a llama, pigs, chickens, ducks, geese, and 2 parakeets. My family has been ranching in southeastern Montana since 2004.  My family runs around 300 head of beef cattle, but we're always expanding. Our herd consist of mostly black Angus, but we have black Baldies and Charolais as well.

I have started my own little herd, with 11 head of my own and 30 head that my husband and I lease from his uncle. I also have a pain-in-the-butt Quarter Horse, Tux. He likes to do as he pleases. I like to do as I please. You could say we disagree on occasion. I know I'll be a rancher for the rest of my life, and my friends think I'm crazy for it. I also love to bake and cook, have ever since I can remember. I like doing arts and crafts, but I hardly have the time. I also love a good book. I could read all day long if I had the chance.

I had never even lived in a town, let alone an actual city, until I went to college. I started off as a Biology major with the intention of going to Pharmacy school. Then I was all like, oh yea, I'm never going to school for six years! So then I came to my senses in the middle of macroeconomics one day. I knew I could be a Business major. I knew it was a degree I would actually use. I knew my smarty pants Biology friends would give me a lot of crap for it. Oh well, at least I knew I was smart enough for science, I just chose something different. I'm now getting my Business Administration bachelor's degree and an associates in Political Science online. Okay, the last one I may or may not use. But hey, I'm allowed a ridiculous minor. As of February I started my online classes to become a Real Estate Agent.

My life is hectic, crazy, frustrating, and yet absolutely fulfilling and wonderful. I couldn't imagine a better way to live.
